Mark Shortland’s young Celts showed no mercy at Poulsom Park to obliterate a plucky Nomads second string in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield.  The Southerners may have hoped with Douglas 1st XV away in Derbyshire that the task would be a little less difficult, but Karl Evans was chief tormentor with three tries and Charlie Henthorn not far adrift with two. Shortie, Carl Conroy, Will Archer, Ollie Bolt, Dom Long, Nathan Knight and Bradley Martin scored tries, with Archer adding nine conversions. Hats off to 80-minute enthusiasm from the hosts, and look out for Evans, Henthorn, Knight and co who are knocking on Douglas 1st team changing room door ever louder. Visit Port-e-Chee on Saturday 16th January for the Celts next fixture v Castletown and see for yourself.
