DAY 17 DOUGLAS RUGBY 4 WEEK IRONMAN CHALLENGE
Were now onto day 18, there has been some truly remarkable stories so far. The challenge was all about getting our community active, and increasing senior players aerobic fitness, so we can concentrate on rugby at the start of July. Adrian Shimmin covered 546km on the road bike after the first 2 weeks, Conor McCaughan covered just over 100km week one with a mix of running and walking. The likes of our juniors Hugh Tummon, Josh Dougal made over 40% increases in performance last week, under 14 Charlie Scarffe is leading the way for most seniors with a mix of long distance running and cycling. One of our sponsors Paula Garland set the target of silver week one, achieved Gold week 2, I cannot wait to see what her finally distance is Sunday. Keep up the great work everyone, it’s awesome to see everyone out and completing their challenge.
