Celts beat Emerging Nomads at Port-e-Chee to finish off their Manx Shield campaign in style. Nathan Knights ran in a hat trick of tries for Douglas and there were also scores from Will Archer, Craig McGee, Lance Wyllie (all two each), Mark Shortland, Karl Evans and Charlie Henthorn. Archer kicked Shortie.jpgsix conversions for a twenty two point personal haul. Douglas played attacking rugby throughout, while Emerging Nomads were solid in their defensive effort and had chances of their own. With Noel Capewell creating holes in the Nomads defence and Archer at 10 showing some quick footwork to find gaps in Nomads backline, Douglas turned around at half-time 30pts to the good. However, they did not have everything their own way, and after some good successive phase work, Nomads created an overlap on the left wing at the start of the second half for Dave Prince to go in and under the posts, allowing Furo Davies to add the extras. Douglas responded and added to their try count which saw red scrum-capped Knights complete his hat-trick and clever midfield play allowing Henthorn to score in the corner with the last play of the game.
