Celts welcomed players old and new, with Glenn Smith returning to the fold and Eddy Laou making his debut. After a minute silence in respect of Nomads player Rob Walster who sadly passed away during the week, the game kicked off and was an even affair all through the first half, with the defence of Jack Moore and Mike Osbourne in the centres noticeable for not allowing Nomads any attacking platform. The score was 0-0 with five minutes to half time when Nomads broke away and scored under the posts. Douglas responded with driving forward play and were rewarded with the final move of the half after work up the blind side from Chris Beaumont put Conor McCaughan in at the corner for 5-7. After the restart Douglas faltered and next touched the ball to kick off again after Nomads scored under the posts for a converted try. Another try saw Nomads extend their lead to 5-21 but Douglas woke up and responded with two well worked tries from Beaumont and Tom Chamberlain to bring the score back to 15-21. Celts concentration lapsed and Nomads score two more tries which, despite extensive pressure from Douglas for the remainder of the game, saw them home 15-31. Nevertheless, encouraging for Douglas with Man of the Match performances from Osbourne and Laou
