Douglas Rugby is breaking new ground in the quest to find the next top flight of IOM Rugby talent with The Douglas Rugby Combine.
Douglas Rugby Club invites all 16-21 year olds across the Isle of Man to take part in a whole day event on the 23rd of February. The event includes an intensive high performance skills and testing assessment, and a filmed/analysed Rugby X (New fun modified form of Rugby) tournament designed to earmark new talent to enhance the pathway to our Douglas Rugby teams.
Douglas Rugby Combine is designed to encourage talented athletes from all sports, regardless of rugby experience, to come forward and have a go at Rugby.
The Day will include:
09:00: Meet, Individual Screening, Team allocation (Douglas Rugby Club, Port-e-Chee)
09:45: Skill session & evaluation (Carl Murray 7s rugby International, Mark Robinson Former All Black)
10:15 Team training (Level 3 coaches & experienced senior players)
10:45 Rugby X Tournament (Coaching analysis with Coach logic software)
12:00 Lunch (Provided, along with nutritionist Advice)
13:00 – 15:00 Posture Testing (Ross Cracknell ROC Performance Therapy) (NSC) Speed light Testing (10m, 40m) (Ben Carling Sport Performances Services Ltd) Agility Testing (Ben Carling)
15:00 – 15:45 Fitness Test
16:00 Debrief & end to Day
Lunch & all refreshments provided
Please Bring: 2 training Tops, 2 trainings Shorts, Warm recovery clothing, 1x pair of trainers, 1x of football boots.
