Fifth-placed Waterloo at home walloped Broughton Park last week, yet were put to the sword by Bowdon in February and have had something of a curate’s egg of a season. This week-end having been originally ‘unfixtured’, several Douglas players are unavailable having booked functions or flights, but the return of Guy Wood and a temporary helping hand from Glyn Hooson-Owen may help balance the books against the Blundellsands side. There were no Douglas injuries recorded last Saturday, and the first half 22-15 form against Winnington Park saw patches of Douglas at their best.
With Broughton Park in 11th having two games in hand and separated by nine points from Douglas in 10th, Park have three home matches to conclude their season. Glossop (9th), Altrincham (7th) and Birkenhead Pk (3rd) are no easy fixtures, but Douglas in their last league action of the season will want to grab points of any kind against Waterloo to stave off potential result horrors across the water.
Squad – Thomas Coleman, Ralph Clarke, Simon Hoddinott, Rob Todd, Conor Garland, Mark McGee, Craig McGee, Niall Killey, Luke Hyland, Bryn Snellgrove, Bradley Bowmar, Aidan O’Shea, Harry Hewson, Kyle Martin, Sam McCord, Jack Shimmin, Phil Cringle, Brendan Kelly, Miguel Costa, Callum Dentith, David Sherwin, Percy Hampton, Toby Poole-Wilson, Wilf Kermode, Thomas Coleman, Sean Garland, Guy Wood, Glyn Hooson-Owen
