With the Manx Plate a knock-out format, a very young Celts squad faced a more experienced Vagas team than they had played against the week before in the Manx Shield league match. The second pitch at Port-e-Chee is simply unplayable at present, so the match was moved to Ballafletcher. Playing with the wind Vagas were 21-5 up at half time, Charlie Henthorn scoring for Douglas. The second half saw a huge effort from Celts, but they lost linchpin Rory Neale with a shoulder injury. His replacement, Olly Bolt, scored under the posts after the best spell Celts had all game with some fast phase and possession play. Vagas replied and finished deserved 35-12 winners to go through to the semi-final against Western Vikings.
